Floor Plan
A bird's-eye horizontal cut through the building showing room layout, wall positions, door and window locations, room dimensions, and circulation paths. The most important drawing it shows how you will live in the house. Separate floor plan for ground floor, first floor, and roof terrace.
Exterior
Elevation Drawing
A flat 2D view of each facade (front, rear, sides) showing heights, window and door positions, parapet design, external finishes, and facade treatment. DHA requires front and both side elevations for approval. The elevation drawing is what DHA checks for bylaw compliance.
Structure
Section Drawing
A vertical cut through the building revealing internal heights, slab thicknesses, ceiling heights, staircase relationships, and floor-to-floor dimensions. Shows the relationship between floors in a way no floor plan can. Critical for structural engineer's reference.
Layout
Site Plan
Shows the building footprint on the plot with all mandatory setbacks from boundaries, front garden, back garden, and driveway. DHA checks the site plan against its bylaw setback requirements. Critical for approval incorrect setbacks are the most common cause of DHA revision requests.
Structure
Foundation Drawing
Shows the foundation type (strip, raft, or pile), dimensions, depth, steel reinforcement layout, and concrete specification. Prepared by a licensed structural engineer based on soil bearing capacity results. Required by DHA for structural approval.
