Getting a bank loan for a house in DHA Lahore under the government’s Apna Ghar Programme should now involve less paperwork. According to Dawn (19 October 2026), the Ministry of Housing and Works says the property documents banks can ask for have been cut to five and made the same across banks, and the State Bank of Pakistan has sent formal instructions to banks.
The documents named in the report include the transfer and possession letter, the site plan, the mortgage permission letter and the mortgage registration documents. Dawn also reports that a Punjab Green Property Certificate can support the financing without extra ownership papers.
Why it matters for DHA buyers
The ministry’s list of eligible properties names DHA plots, houses and apartments. The scheme offers loans of up to Rs10 million, and it is meant for people building their first home.
What the report does not say
The report gives no start date, and it does not list the fifth document. Before you apply, ask your bank for its updated checklist under the Apna Ghar scheme.
